For Ainsley Lochan and Robert Dumas, 2009 proved to be a year to remember. Not only did Lochan record his 5^th Title in 6 years but he managed to finish every single stage he started for 2009…..wait wait wait……YES I have verified this – with the exception of a roll on the Sunday Bronte stages in RT09

(which he still drove to the finish on his own power). Lochan/Dumas won 5 of the 7 Championship events placing 2^nd to Mckenzie/Samaroo in the 2 remaining events. The year’s successes included winning Rally Trinidad for the first time – an honour he will surely remember for a long time to come and also the birth of his 3^rd son (just imagine the TTRC could very well have 3 Lochan vehicles racing in 25 years). Ainsley has been at this for a few years, and it seems that he has really found the right formula of team and car. His NP Ultra, STAG, Oakley, Joseph’s Sport’s Bar Group A Mitsubishi Evo 9 will surely be a force to reckon with in 2010, and unless the other drivers step up their game, Lochan/Dumas could be sitting on Championship Title #6. With 7 events to go and the rumour of John Powell coming back to rally the entire season in a Grp N Evo 9, and 3 new 4WD drivers in the mix, 2010 may prove to be one of Lochan’s most challenging season’s yet.
